Lindy Gravelle celebrates new CD

Published: June 26. 2009 4:00AM PST

Central Oregon music scene veteran Lindy Gravelle is celebrating the release of her new album “One Lucky Lady” the only way she knows how: by playing gigs. Tonight, she’ll perform at Bo Restobar in Bend.

Gravelle is not only a fixture on the local scene, she’s a survivor of 15 years in Nashville, where she wrote songs for a Music City publishing firm. She also has nine albums to her name, and on www.lindygravelle.com, she says “One Lucky Lady” exposes her “country roots, with nods to the legends Buck Owens and Johnny Cash, and a splash of the blues, boogie-woogie and rock ‘n’ roll thrown in too.”

The album features nine originals and four covers and is available at Gravelle’s shows and on her Web site, where you can also follow the effort to make her song “No Place Under the Sun Like Oregon” a new Oregon state song, alongside “Oregon, My Oregon.”
