Details: Four years ago, Klamath Falls-based South Valley Bank & Trust had just two locations in Central Oregon.

Now, the bank has seven locations in the region, including two branches in Sisters and Bend that are under construction.

The Sisters branch has been operating at a temporary location, McLaughlin said, but plans to move into its new offices later this year. The new Sisters bank is located near the corner of McKinney Butte Road and U.S. Highway 20.

The Bend building is a renovation of an existing branch on Bluff Drive and Bond Street, said Dave McLaughlin, the company’s vice president and branch administrator. It will be completed in October.

“We are being somewhat aggressive about our expansion,” McLaughlin said, adding that the banking company also serves the Klamath Falls and Rogue Valley areas.

In addition to the current renovations, McLaughlin said South Valley is working on a building plan in Madras and is in the process of securing a permit to construct a building on Purcell Boulevard, across from Costco Wholesale Corp. in Bend, where the bank would relocate one of the existing branches.

The company has plans to construct an entirely new branch on Third Street and Empire Avenue, McLaughlin said.

When the work on all of the branches is complete, the company will have nine locations in the area.

“It’s really our commitment to community banking in Central Oregon,” McLaughlin said. “We believe it will serve that market very well. We’ve had good success, and we’ve been able to bring on some great people.”
