Highlights: Good for enjoying a pitcher of sangria and an assortment of tapas, or small plates, during the summer months. Restaurant managers say that 38 Degrees has some of the best views of the mountains of any of the area’s public, non-resort restaurants. The eatery is considering building an outdoor kitchen, which would make skewers and tapas for outdoor diners.
Blue Olive

Description of outdoor seating: The large deck at this restaurant, part of Brasada Ranch, can seat about 50 people. The space includes areas that are covered and spaces open to the sun. Diners sit on metal chairs and eat on stone tabletops. Heating is available.
Highlights: The views are stunning, with rolling farmlands framed by the mountains in the distance. It is particularly nice place to watch the sunset. The seating also includes a protective glass wall to keep the wind down. Other nice touches include an outside fireplace, comfy rocking chairs and couch-like seating.
Old Mill Martini Bar

Highlights: The comfortable, pretty setting includes two water features that bring a nice sound to the area. The seating is far off the road and away from the noise of the highway.

Highlights: Trees around this Craftsman-style restaurant offer natural shade, with heat lamps keeping diners warm in the evening. This west-side eatery has limited seating inside, so owners converted the deck into the “Kebubble,” in which plastic walls keep diners warm during the cooler months. Owners say the Kebubble will be taken down once the weather warms up.
Longboard Louie’s
