Berdina Leona Buhs

Berdina Leona Buhs, of Bend, died Sunday. She was 84.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. June 29 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Anoka, Minn.

Mrs. Buhs was born May 24, 1923, in Ortonville, Minn., the daughter of Walter and Ada (Mueller) Schwandt. She married Kenneth Buhs on June 30, 1945, in Minneapolis.

Mrs. Buhs worked as a secretary for the Federal Cartridge Corp. in Anoka. She was a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Anoka and the Lutheran Women’s Association, and she volunteered with a Lutheran braille Bible service.

She enjoyed playing bridge and other card games, sewing, fishing, spending time on the lakes of Minnesota and spending time with friends and family.

Survivors include a son, Jeffrey, of St. Paul, Minn.; a daughter, Victoria Marshall, of Bend; a brother, Harold Schwandt, of Surprise, Ariz.; two sisters, Adeline Forsyth and Marjorie Otto, both of Sacramento, Calif.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a stepdaughter, a brother and a grandchild.
