Jacoby Ellsbury’s hometown is preparing a welcoming party fit for a world champion. A parade in Ellsbury’s honor will be part of a celebration in Madras set for Saturday, Nov. 17.
Ellsbury, a Madras native who grew up in Central Oregon and graduated from Madras High School in 2002, last month helped the Boston Red Sox sweep the Colorado Rockies in Major League Baseball’s World Series.
The rookie outfielder started in all four games in the Series and collected seven hits, including four doubles. He led the Sox with seven runs scored and posted a team-high batting average of .438.
