Mary Elizabeth MacEwen of Bend died Tuesday of natural causes. She was 81.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Des-chutes Memorial Chapel Mausoleum.
Mrs. MacEwen was born Jan. 6, 1925, in Fargo, N.D., to Leon and Mary (Delmore) Cassette. She married Roy MacEwen on June 10, 1944, in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Mrs. Mac-Ewen worked as a payroll clerk and secretary for 30 years. She enjoyed family, cooking, caregiving and babysitting her grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, William of Napa, Calif.; two daughters, JoAnne Aarons of Bend and Nancy Berven of Marine, Minn.; two brothers, George Cassette of Santa Rosa, Calif., and William Cassette of Stockton, Calif.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a granddaughter.

Deschutes Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
