Bradford Norman Pease
March 2, 1912-May 2, 2004
Bradford Norman Pease of Bend died Sunday of natural causes. He was 92.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Dr. Pease was born March 2, 1912, in Portland to George and Alice (Boutwell) Pease. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Portland, and from Stanford University and Harvard Medical School. He served in the Army during World War II as chief of surgery for the 70th Evac Hospital.
He married Elizabeth Clark in 1936 and later married Joan Hawes in 1972.
Dr. Pease moved to Bend in 1945 and helped found the Bend Memorial Clinic. He visited the Lahey Clinic in Boston for additional training and came back to Bend in 1953. He remained at Bend Memorial Clinic until his retirement in 1978.
Dr. Pease was a founder of Mount Bachelor and served on its board of directors for many years. He was a member of the Bend Golf and Country Club, Bend Rotary and served on the Bend Planning Commission.
His hobbies included golfing, swimming, skiing and sailing.
Survivors include his wife of Bend; four sons, Norman of Orinda, Calif., Wilson of Napa, Calif., and William and Andrew, both of Bend; a daughter, Julie Clark of North Lake Tahoe, Nev.; a sister, Ruthie Shuler of Lake Oswego; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and two sisters.

Richard C. Ertle

Richard C. Ertle of Bend died Sunday of natural causes. He was 80.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 7, at Deschutes Memorial Gardens in Bend.
Mr. Ertle was born Aug. 9, 1923, in Hood River to George and Marjorie (Barr) Ertle. He graduated from Bend High School in 1941 and married Anita (Brown) Ertle in Bend in August of 1941.
Mr. Ertle went to work for Boeing in Seattle and then served in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific.
He worked in the lumber industry and was vice superintendent for Lelco when it was sold to Willamette Industries. He retired from Korpine in 1986 as a quality control supervisor.
Mr. Ertle enjoyed fishing, hunting, history, reading, golfing and traveling.
Survivors include his wife of Bend; a son, Alan of Corvallis; three daughters, Susan Teppola of Carlton, Regan of Bend, and Lynne of Eugene; and five grandchildren.

Myrna L. Winters
Dec. 14, 1938-May 2, 2004
Myrna L. Winters of Prineville died Sunday of natural causes. She was 65.
A private service will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Winters was born Dec. 14, 1938, in Bell, Calif., to Milton and Ethel (Sergent) Crocker. She grew up in Palm Desert, Calif., and married Daniel Winters on Feb. 14, 1958, in Palm Desert.
She moved to Sweet Home in 1976 and then to Prineville in 1989.
Mrs. Winters was a member of the Church of Christ in Sweet Home and she enjoyed sewing, needlework and camping.
Survivors include her husband of Prineville; a son, Dan Jr. of Salem; a daughter, Cheryl of Burbank, Calif.; a brother, Raymond Ward of Calif.; two sisters, Donna Asher of Carson City, Nev., and Marvine Pond of Lebanon; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.

Ryan Moose' C. Phillips

Ryan "Moose" C. Phillips of Bend died Saturday in an automobile accident. He was 20.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 8, at Pilot Butte Cemetery in Bend.
Mr. Phillips was born Dec. 15, 1983, in Hayward, Calif., to Jim and Kathy Phillips. He graduated from Mountain View High School in 2000. While attending Mountain View, he was a varsity football player and concert choir member.
He enjoyed photography and traveling with the Mountain View Choir.
Survivors include his parents of Bend; a sister, Sam of Bend; and his grandparents, Charles Phillips of Visalia, Calif., Al and Janice Coonce of Sacramento, Calif., and Kitty and Bob Bigham of Bend.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother.
