Dorothy Annette (Saunders) Renz

March 25, 1926 - Sept. 22, 2002

Dorothy Annette (Saunders) Renz of Bend died Sunday of natural causes. She was 76.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Baker City. A celebration of life will follow at Sumpter Junction.

Mrs. Renz was born March, 25, 1926, in New Bridge to Merritt and Eva Saunders. She was class valedictorian at Eagle Valley High School in Richland, Wash. She attended business college in Yakima, Wash. She married Howard Renz in 1947 in Baker City.

She worked for the State of Oregon Highway Department and the Pine-Eagle School District. Mrs. Renz was also a caseworker for the State of Oregon Social Services Department.

Mrs. Renz enjoyed music, she played the violin and joined community choirs. She also loved chocolate and people.

Survivors include her son, Mike of Redmond; one daughter, Lynn Renz Brogan of Auburn, Wash.; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Hospice of Redmond, Sisters and Grant County, Chapter 732, SW 23rd Street, Redmond 97756.

Deschutes Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Alice AuCoin Atkinson

May 7, 1914 - Sept. 21, 2001

Alice AuCoin Atkinson of Redmond died Saturday of complications from a fractured hip and pelvis. She was 88.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Redmond Memorial Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Central Oregon Community Hospital Foundation in support of nursing programs.

Marjorie Ellen Cork

March 25, 1920 - Sept. 22, 2002

Marjorie Ellen Cork of Prineville died Sunday. She was 82.

A viewing will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at Whispering Pines Funeral Home Chapel in Prineville. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Canyon City Cemetery in Canyon City.

Mrs. Cork was born March 25, 1920, in Heppner to Walter and Millie Drumm. She attended school in Prairie City. She married Darrell Cork on Aug. 19, 1939, in Boise, Idaho.

She and her husband owned a restaurant in John Day. They moved to Elgin and also lived in Salt Lake City before moving to Burns. Mrs. Cork worked for the Harney County Hospital for almost 20 years. She then worked at Hines Lumber Company until she retired in 1985.

She moved to Prineville in February 2000.

Mrs. Cork enjoyed the outdoors and the mountains. She liked to go on picnics, work in the yard and spend time with her grandchildren. Her hobbies included fishing and crocheting.

Survivors include her daughter, Dolores Clark; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a brother.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Prineville Memorial Hospice.

Jack Stacy McCullough

Oct. 15, 1923 - Sept. 22, 2002

Jack Stacy McCullough of Prineville died Sunday of natural causes. He was 78.

A viewing will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Prineville Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Nazarene Church in Prineville.

Mr. McCullough was born Oct. 15, 1923, in Mt. Vernon to Frank and Lora (DeLore) McCullough. He attended school in Crook County. He married Pearl Dick on Aug. 21, 1947, in Prineville.

He joined the Navy on Feb. 19, 1944 and served in World War II.

Mr. McCullough worked for Gill Cattle Company and Hudspeth, building log roads. He later worked for Les Schwab operating heavy equipment.

He was affiliated with the Prineville Elks Club and the Crook County Historical Society.

Mr. McCullough enjoyed hunting, fishing, horses and cattle. He also enjoyed flying and his friends and family.

Survivors include his two sons, John of Prineville and Don of Portland; one brother, Ron of Sumpter; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and a brother.

Memorial contributions may be made to Pioneer Memorial Hospital or Pioneer Memorial Hospice.
