Markian Hawryluk (Health projects reporter)

Markian Hawryluk is the health projects reporter at The Bulletin. A graduate of the Master's Program in Journalism at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, he spent 15 years in Washington, D.C. as a health policy reporter for several national health industry publications. He came to the Bulletin in 2004 to launch a new Health section. Over the years, he has won numerous reporting awards, including the 2009 Bruce Baer Award for Investigative Reporting. In his spare time, he is an avid mountaineer, a diehard Redskins fan, and a beer aficionado. He enjoys traveling both in the U.S. and abroad with his wife, Kateryna.
