Erik Lukens (Editor)
Erik Lukens is editor of The Bulletin. He served for 13 years as the paper’s editorial page editor, beginning in 1998, before becoming city editor in 2011. Erik left to join The Oregonian as editorial page editor in 2012 and returned to Bend four years later. Before catching the news bug, Erik studied English Literature at Cornell University and Princeton University, where he received a PhD. He was introduced to journalism at The Trentonian, a news tabloid in New Jersey’s capital city, which took a chance and hired him as a copy editor in 1993. Erik and his wife, Shelli Mulder, have three teenaged boys.
